Our Gait Analysis Process

Gait analysis, or running style assessment, is the key service we provide free to all our customers when buying their running shoes in our shop.

Running shoes are specifically designed to address a vast variety of foot shapes, weight differences, and biomechanical anomalies and, particularly for the beginner, it can be bewildering identifying which shoe will work best for you.

The first step is being correctly fitted for running shoes.  You may be surprised to hear that about 60% of our customers first come in wearing the wrong size shoes.

One of our trained team will assess your foot arch to see if they arches need any support. We then test your gait on the treadmill, by means of you running a short distance. A video recording is taken and played back in slow motion allowing us to give you detailed feedback on your running style.

Further to the assessment of whether your arches need additional support, we can also identify any shoe technologies that would counteract other features of your gait that may make you prone to injury.

From here, running shoes can be recommended in order to make your running style as efficient as possible and help keep you running injury-free!
